Now you know we keep it fresh round here and this video off of The Big 10 mixtape for the joint “Put Your Hands Up” is evidence of that. If you havn’t got your free download, hurry up and please do cause you’re starting 2012 off on a bad foot. Gotta love the comedy eliment of the video and come on fellas, you know we’ve all been in this position of trying to juggle a few girls in one tight ass circle. Either way the beat knocks and 50 is on his usual vibe but his flow sounds a bit more harsh, back to that early 2000’s style. As I said before, get your year started off right with “Put Your Hands Up”

It seems like dancehall’s tempo was getting faster and faster while more and more people were leaving the scene at an even faster pace. Enter Charlie Black. The “new” kid on the block has recently been dropping dancehall with a 1990’s (its prime years according to most fans) style while still pushing a new sound at the same time. Now sure some of his tracks can sound a bit more like 90’s soca or recent hip hop, but his vocal delivery is pure dancehall deejay every time. Ether way you slice it, he’s producing dancehall thats fun to listen and dance to. Mind you, some people may not like the agree with the lyrical topics but hey, the man is just saying how much he loves women..is it really that bad? So feel free to slap this on the radio and dance around your house while no one’s watching, its pretty infectious

Ok forget the greatest female MC, one of the greatest MC’s period.  Easily flowing from R&B angel to Dancehall assassin, Ms Dynamite is one of the most talented people of our decade.  Her ability to release her harsh sounds with dancehall-esque precision or switch up to a gentle chorus and bridge shows just how comfortable she is in her own skin. On a personal note, she represents and delivers her music blending dancehall, hip hop, dubstep and even touches of drum and bass (this particular track), showing just how relevant she is no matter where you place her. It’s always a good vibe when you’re able to sit and work with an artist, throw together a few ideas and produce something great in the end.  The lyrics to Underneath the Moonlight have been circulating for a minute but the song never really had a beat to call its own.  With a Dancehall style foundation and R&B lyric structure, it was just needing one extra element.  With soft synths and a gentle breakdown in the middle, Underneath the Moonlight morphed into a Dancehall/RnB/Trance record all in one unified vibe.

Just to give you a heads up, I’ll be doing a vid-shoot in Lidkoping, Sweden on November 14, 2010.  I’ll be shooting the video to “Headphones” off of J-Gully’s EP.  The shoot will kick off at about 8 am but will be going all day.  So dress warm and come on down to Lidkoping Skate Park to kick it with myself, Militia Sound Crew and the Skanking Society.  Who knows, Balkan Brigaden might even blow something up.
