The boys are back in action over at www.radiolive.se and they called on yours truly to lace the intro. Doing an intro is always live because its one part jingle, one part freestyle. You try to make it fun and entertaining as always, but not too lyrical or deep cause it needs to be memorable and somewhat catchy. I didn’t realize I hadn’t recorded the intro until about 2 hours before the show’s seasonal debut!! So after taking 20minutes to record it, mix and send it off I was blessed with a text message saying..”thanks, we were panicking for a minute! This is dope man” -J. Gully

Jas & Jahmal are at it again with 13 tracks of boom bap vibes. When I was last in Sweden I traded lyrics with both Jas and Chop Chop in a Gully Lab studio cypher. With Jahmal delivering on the decks and in the beats, Jas delivers an old school flow over some mid 90’s feel hip hop anthems in both Swedish and English. Guest vocalist include Dr. Akula and Senor Kaos on this backpackers banger. Download

Just to give you a heads up, I’ll be doing a vid-shoot in Lidkoping, Sweden on November 14, 2010.  I’ll be shooting the video to “Headphones” off of J-Gully’s EP.  The shoot will kick off at about 8 am but will be going all day.  So dress warm and come on down to Lidkoping Skate Park to kick it with myself, Militia Sound Crew and the Skanking Society.  Who knows, Balkan Brigaden might even blow something up.

For anyone in the Sweden area this weekend, specifically Stockholm, you may wanna carry your ass down to Art of the Streets, Aug 13-14.  Check out some of the sickest gaffiti art, rap battles and all around street culture being presented in a two day showcase. On August 14 check out the live perfomanee of my label mates, Balkan Brigaden, and Flowdan. About 8 euros gets you in the door with both shows jumping off at 9:00pm.  Forget Ikea and the meatballs, sweden will be reppin’ hard for street culture this weekend.
