Grime is still pushing forward and still coming hard. For a minute it was just bars upon bars and no real song format, making it hard for music fans to cross-over, but not so much today. The scenes regulars return here to show the new school kids just how its done. Its a great blend of the creative styles within the genre itself, Kano’s dancehall change up, Wretch’s punchline southern flow, Wiley doing er..Wiley, and Scorcher’s east coast hip hop style. Look out for Kano’s Jack Bauer 2.0 mixtape to be dropping soon.

“Wagwan cuz” may not be your typical American street greeting but for many english speaking cities its a staple. From Toronto to London and back to the Caribbean, slang words like “safe”, bruv, cousin, cozo, bredrin, dun know” are every day slogans brandished by people from all ethnic groups. Mostly due to West Indian (mostly Jamaican) immigration with traditions being held strong, these words now dominate the urban landscape and cross all colours, ethnic groups and religions. Just shows how unorganized yet organized we all are as P-Money demonstrates. Check him out this weekend in Gothenburg, Sweden alongside my boys Balkan Brigaden @ Roda Sten 1 this saturday!

“ya get me?”

Militia Sound Crew & Yaun Lee present Take Em By Surprise Mixtape. These boys basically fired off every riddim they could think of and I responded. Here’s a versatile vocal assault over Grime, Dubstep, Dancehall and Hip Hop

When Kano released “Get Wild” back in May I thought to myself, “instant dance floor killer”. The track is off his latest album, Method to the Madness, and has Wiley & Aidonia bringing slick vocals to make it an all around grenade. Shout out to Boyz Noize for the heavy production as well. Here’s Kano performing @ Notting Hill Carnival 2010….what the fuck is wiff da crowd tho?

I met Dutty Mouth about two weeks ago in London doing what he does best- grinding his music. He spit 16 bars for me right there on the sidewalk, straight up with no hesitation. Heres a new joint from the dangerous MC called “You Left Me Blue”

Whats good people, for a minute I’ve been vibing to an MC who goes by the name Lady Leshurr. Now I first heard her rip on a track, “Where We Come From” as she was featured with Black The Ripper. She dropped her mixtape, entitled 01:21 AM, last month and I’ve had it’s tracks on rotation ever since. Don’t sleep, this LADY puts it down!

Damn, this is the right way to start off my afternoon . The Guinness chilled in the fridge, the BBQ blazing with some good food and a fresh Grime mix blazing from the speakers! Mista MJL, fresh off of his debut Radio Soundclash show, whipped together a few hits of the season blended with some older mixtape scorchers. Look for your regular LDN reps like Ghetts, Skepta and D Double E, plus one of my favorite MC’s right now, Lady Leshurr. Big Ups for the MIX
